Possible Solar Modulation of Global Land-ocean Temperature
نویسنده
چکیده
In this work, with wavelet transform, the author investigates possible connection between global land-ocean temperature and solar activity. The study shows fluctuation characteristics in the global land-ocean temperature change. The modulation action from solar activity plays an important role in the temperature change, and there is a possible association existing in the global land-ocean temperature and solar activity on decade time scales. Analysis of heat waves temporal fluctuation in North - West region of Iran and their relationship with greenhouse gases and global land-ocean temperature anomalies
The heat waves today are one of the most important climatic hazards in the world. According to many scientists, the Severe and frequent occurrence of heat waves in recent years has been due to the emission of greenhouse gases and consequent increased global warming. The purpose of this study is to investigate changes in the frequency and intensity of heat waves As well as their relationship wit...
متن کاملStatistical Analysis of Relationships between Monthly Maximum Temperatures in Iran and Global Mean Land-Ocean Temperature Anomalies
Global warming and the meaningful relationship between temperature and precipitation changes over different areas of the earth with temperature increment of the earth, are considered as the most important patterns of this century’s climate changes. Today, there is debate over climate change and global temperatures increasing. Damaging effects of this phenomenon on the planet is one of the most ...
متن کاملThermohaline Circulation Stability in a Coupled Land - Ocean - Atmosphere Box Model
Global climate reflects a complex interaction among the continents, the oceans and the atmosphere. Exactly how these interactions occur remains one of the great questions about the Earth system. To address this issue, a simple box model representing one hemisphere with land, ocean and atmosphere components is developed and analyzed. The specific question addressed is how the inclusion of separa...
متن کاملSolar Influences on Cosmic Rays and Cloud Formation: A Reassessment
[1] Svensmark and Friis-Christensen [1997] proposed a ‘‘cosmic ray-cloud cover’’ hypothesis that cosmic ray flux, modulated by solar activity, may modify global cloud cover and thus global surface temperature by increasing the number of ions in the atmosphere, leading to enhanced condensation of water vapor and cloud droplet formation. We evaluate this idea by extending their period of study an...
متن کاملPrimary production of the biosphere: integrating terrestrial and oceanic components
Integrating conceptually similar models of the growth of marine and terrestrial primary producers yielded an estimated global net primary production (NPP) of 104.9 petagrams of carbon per year, with roughly equal contributions from land and oceans. Approaches based on satellite indices of absorbed solar radiation indicate marked heterogeneity in NPP for both land and oceans, reflecting the infl...
